Seats
Most 3 wheel double buggies begin as single pushchairs. Some models can be modified to accept an additional seat by using adapters. There are also models let you add a ride-on board for older children who would like to walk, but need some assistance.
For a light-weight option that's great for city streets, check out the Joie Evalite Duo. It's easy to move and has a large basket with lots of storage. It can accommodate twins from at birth and can accommodate two car seats, or a carrycot with a seat. The seats must be facing toward the forward direction and there isn't space for bags of groceries under the seat. You will require an extra sidepack.
If you're looking to go off-road then the Mountain Buggy Duet is a great choice. It is a side by side model with the most compact footprint of any double buggy that is available. This allows it to fit through narrow doors and on public transport, and also allows you to go up and down kerbs without too much trouble. The iCandy Orange is one of the most well-known double buggies available due to its outstanding comfort. It's a true all-terrain pushchair with soft suspension that is able to handle bumpy surfaces. It offers 30 different seating options, a built-in board for older children who like walking, and a "cinema mode' that raises the back seats to provide better visibility.
The phil&teds dots are brilliant single buggys that can be easily modified to accommodate two (or three!) in various configurations. This is particularly helpful when you have a child in a car seat, because the frame can be fitted with a wedgie for optimum lie-flat positioning, or car seat adapters to many brands.
Suspension
The suspension of a triple wheeled buggy will determine how easily your child/children and you can push it. It is crucial to enjoy a smooth ride since babies feel every bump in the road. This is especially the case if you're driving on rough terrain, such as grass or unpaved roads. Certain models also have front wheels that lock to assist in maneuvering and navigating obstacles like curbs.
Some models use air-filled tyres, which provide a fantastic all-terrain experience, but they can be prone to punctures, so ensure you have spares in the trunk. Some models have gel-filled or foam-filled tyres which are designed to absorb bumps. They are less likely to puncture, however they may be uncomfortable for your child if you choose to jog.

Folding
A 3-wheel double buggy can fold very well to store it.
